Creates a Reimagined Pizza Night

When it comes to luxury social events planning, we love elevating familiar concepts. For a milestone birthday at Borgo Santo Pietro, we took a classic pizza party and added in customized touches for a memorable al fresco evening gathered around the table. The night stayed rooted in what makes Tuscan entertaining work so well: good food and wine, a slow pace, and a setting that does most of the talking on its own.

The Table

Larry Walshe Studios helped to construct the tablescape with hand-painted linens, artisan glassware, and Italian ceramics in deep saturated colors. Instead of traditional candles, we used taper candles shaped like wine bottles, bowls of spaghetti, and plates of burrata and tomatoes to bring some whimsy to the table. Rather than florals for this tablescape, Borgo’s team filled centerpieces with an abundance of vine-ripened tomatoes straight from the property’s garden. Between these intentional details set out along the tables, the whole evening was right out of a painting.

Brass Bells and a Sing-Along

Seating cards created by Carissimo Letterpress were tied to individual brass bells at each place setting, and by the time dinner was underway, the bells became part of the show. ALR Music performers, dressed in Brunello Cucinelli suits, moved around the table leading a traditional Italian sing-along, and any sense of a formal dinner fell away as guests were ringing bells and singing That’s Amore into the night.

Straight From the Fire

Borgo’s team ran the kitchen with precision; we engaged a Master Pizzaiolo to create wood-fired pizzas straight from the stone oven while guests watched his artistry at work, preparing a meal that was both made with love and exceptional talent. Pairing a table that was considered with a menu created from the best the region has to offer delivered an elevated yet completely relaxed night.

Why an Elevated Pizza Night Works

A guiding principle in our luxury social events planning is that some of the best nights in Tuscany are the ones that don’t try too hard. This one had all the design details, tomatoes as centerpieces, bells as place cards, an Italian sing-along no one saw coming, but at the center of it was exquisite pizza and a table full of memories.
