From Aman to Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton: Why a Yacht Experience Is the New It-Trip

Apr 21, 2026

For years, luxury hospitality has been quietly expanding beyond the traditional hotel stay. First came branded residences. Then private members’ clubs. Then fully immersive, design-forward destination experiences.

Now, the most forward-thinking hospitality brands are taking things even further: onto the water.

Companies like Aman Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection are launching ultra-luxury yachts designed to feel less like cruise ships and more like the most exclusive floating boutique hotels.

For the luxury event and experience space, this shift signals something larger: a move toward fully immersive, mobile environments where brand, design, dining, and destination are seamlessly integrated.

In the past, clients seeking private yacht experiences were often limited by the capacity constraints of traditional charters. Hotel yachts now offer a compelling alternative, delivering the intimacy of a private experience while accommodating a more expansive, yet still highly curated, guest list.

It also sparks the start of a new ultra-luxury travel trend: the travel triathlon. And no, it’s not the triathlon you think. The latest bucket-list flex is traveling with one hospitality brand by sea, train and land, arriving at a coveted destination, and making the journey part of the elite experience. More on that in our next post.

But what exactly is offered on these vessels, and what sets them apart?

Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

As the category creator, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is leading the charge with the most established fleet.

The 623-foot Evrima, launched in 2022, set the tone with 149 suites – most with private terraces – creating an experience that feels intimate yet social. Onboard, guests find an infinity pool, a spa, and refined dining concepts that mirror the brand’s hotel portfolio.

Seasonally, Evrima sails the Mediterranean in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter, positioning it as an accessible entry point into the yachting space.

Its successors, the 790-foot Ilma in 2024 and the 794-foot Luminara, expand both scale and ambition. With larger guest capacities, more suite categories, and enhanced wellness offerings, these vessels introduce longer, more globally diverse itineraries – including Northern Europe and Asia.

Culinary programming becomes a defining feature, with concepts from Michelin-starred Chef Fabio Trabocchi and James Beard award-winning Chef Michael Mina.

For event planners, Ritz-Carlton’s fleet offers the most versatility – ideal for multi-day celebrations, corporate retreats, and buyouts with a social, high-energy atmosphere.

Four Seasons Yachts

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts enters the space with a distinctly different approach – one rooted in space, design, and service precision.

Launching in 2026 in celebration of Four Seasons’ 65th anniversary, Four Seasons I debuted in the Mediterranean with an itinerary spanning Saint-Tropez, Bodrum, Montenegro, and the Greek Isles.

At 679 feet, the vessel is intentionally exclusive, with just 95 suites. Each is designed with seamless indoor-outdoor living, including the exceptional 9,600-square-foot Funnel Suite – one of the largest accommodations at sea.

Design takes center stage here. Inspired in part by the legendary Christina O, the ship prioritizes light, openness, and a refined, contemporary sensibility.

The culinary program is equally ambitious, with 11 distinct restaurants and lounges, including Sedna, which anchors a rotating Chef-in-Residence series featuring talent from Four Seasons restaurants in Paris, Athens, Florence, and Hong Kong.

A standout feature not seen yet on other vessels is the transverse marina, expanding the usable waterfront space and creating a natural gathering point for guests.

From an event perspective, Four Seasons I offers exceptional service consistency with its nearly 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio, design-forward environments, and a layout that lends itself to layered, multi-moment experiences.

The second yacht, Four Seasons II, is set to debut in 2027.

Amangati

If Ritz-Carlton proves the concept and Four Seasons refines it, Aman Resorts pushes it to its most rarefied extreme.

Set to launch in 2027, Amangati will be the most exclusive offering in the category, with just 47 suites and an exceptionally high staff-to-guest ratio.

At approximately 600 feet, the vessel is designed to mirror Aman’s signature aesthetic: minimalist, serene, and deeply connected to its surroundings. For the devoted Amanjunkies, this marks a natural evolution as the brand extends from land to sea.

Amenities include: the Aman Spa, a Japanese garden, a beach club, and helipads for seamless arrivals.

But what truly distinguishes Amangati is philosophy. The experience is less about activity and more about atmosphere – quiet, intentional, and deeply personal.

For events, this shifts the paradigm entirely. This is not a setting for large-scale celebrations. Instead, it lends itself to ultra-private gatherings, high-level client entertainment, and intimate milestone moments.

Our Take

What’s emerging isn’t just a new way to travel, but a new canvas for luxury experiences.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has proven demand and offers scale and flexibility.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts brings design precision and service excellence into a maritime setting.

Aman Resorts delivers the ultimate in privacy and exclusivity.

For the luxury event world, these vessels represent something uniquely compelling: fully immersive environments where every element – design, cuisine, service, and setting – can be controlled and curated.

While not positioned as traditional event venues, these yachts are already being explored for private charters, milestone celebrations, and multi-day gatherings – refining what an event can look like at the highest level.

And perhaps that’s why the yacht experience has become the new “it-trip.”

Because at this level, it’s no longer about where you go, it’s about creating an experience that moves with you.
