Introducing Entertaining on a Whim: our collection of ready-to-entertain table settings thoughtfully curated for the holiday host in collaboration with Whim Hospitality.

Let's face it, it's been a stressful year; socially distanced life has left many social calendars sparse. We are longing for something to look forward to, we wish to be dressed up with somewhere to go, and we're anxiously awaiting the return of special occasions where we gather around the table with family and friends (either in person or virtually). The weird time warp we've been in may have you feeling like the holidays have suddenly snuck up on you and that party planning has been put on the back burner, like your gravy.

We know these last few months have been difficult for all of us, but what we also know is what we see firsthand every day: bringing people together to connect and make memories has the power to lift spirits. A few festive spirits never hurt, either.

As our gift to you, we've teamed up with Whim Hospitality to bring you designer-curated table settings that take the stress out of holiday entertaining, so you can focus on what's most important, like bringing back the traditions you hold dear through intimate gatherings with your loved ones, fêteing the season, or simply leveling-up Hallmark movie night.

First up, a few table settings that will help you celebrate all that you have to be grateful for. We've got the design and rentals covered, all you have to do is assemble the guest list- just consider these turnkey packages another thing to be grateful for this season. Don't forget to complete the look with seasonal centerpieces available through the Whim Hospitality floral team and custom menu cards by Peach Paper Design.

Stay tuned for our Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year's Eve collections, launching soon! Looking for assistance with these packages or additional event coordination services? Cassie LaMere Events would be pleased to be a part of your upcoming gathering. Please visit our contact page to get in touch with our team.

As event designers, our days are often spent taking a meticulous eye to spaces, details, and settings to create an experience. With each event comes a new opportunity to dream up environments that inspire, by way of storytelling and engaging the senses.

With the entire world on lockdown, we know the new norm is conducting business amongst the creature comforts of our homes. As we’ve been video chatting with friends and colleagues about the need to define a #wfh space (And let’s be honest, curiously browsing what’s in their background), we discovered that the core elements we incorporate into our events similarly work as a recipe for assembling a stylish home office.

Here, a few of our design tips adapted as a guide for composing your own remote HQ.

Statement Chair | Feel free to explore playing with patterns and unique shapes! You can even mix textiles, which will create visual interest that encourages the eye to roam. Just be sure to prioritize comfort along with cool factor.

Good Lighting | Never underestimate the power of good lighting. Natural or diffused light will bring a sense of warmth and be complementary to live + work surroundings. Achieve Insta-filter status with a tabletop lamp that is both functional and fetching.

Fresh Flowers | Nothing breathes life into a space like fresh flowers. Whether petite or pronounced, their presence and fragrance are an instant mood boost that in the words of Marie Kondo, spark joy.

Curated Art | Be it works from the great masters or a local market find, a focal point of art ignites the creative spirit. A gallery wall or signature piece will inspire your work and bring energy to your day.

Nestled Side Table | During the design process, our team relies on a beloved French phrase: mise en place, or everything in its place, applies as much to your home office as it does a perfectly set tablescape. Enter the nestled side table, an ideal landing spot for quarantine reads and the beverage of choice to fuel your hustle. An architectural, antique, or bohemian companion can be used as a perch for your morning ritual during Zoom meetings, then transition to a favorite cocktail for virtual happy hours with friends.

Charming Décor Accents | A collection of talismans, heirlooms, and mementos transform any room into a personal space where you’ll want to linger. Surround yourself with details that tell a story and take a page from our playbook by adding a touch of whimsy!

STRAIGHT OFF THE HEELS of her Spring Summer 2020 Collection debut at Fashion for Good, local fashion designer Brittany Allen is stepping into a new spotlight, securing a coveted spot on Bravo’s Project Runway. Sharing the limelight when the new season airs Dec. 5 (at 8:30 p.m. CT) will be her southern roots and the Austin community she intends to raise up through this platform.

Allen’s core values of female empowerment, confidence and motivation are as evident in her personality as they are in her brand ethos. Now, as a representative of Austin on a national scale, Allen is committed to lifting up designers and being a driving force for the capitol city’s influence in a global market.

Texans dominating the runway is not a new trend. Several renowned fashion designers call Texas home and for Project Runway judge and mentor Brandon Maxwell, a sense of Texas pride is a common thread throughout his collections. That Lone Star spirit offered Allen an instant connection with Brandon. Sharing similar points of view, she knows first-hand how a community standing behind one another can drive motivation and says that as a designer, she values that Brandon has “never forgotten his roots.”
